Everyone experiences emotional difficulties from time to time. But if a problem keeps returning or never really goes away, psychotherapy may help.
A persistent problem may be hard to explain to other people. The stress of dealing with it alone can become overwhelming and affect your mental health. Therapy is a chance to talk about a problem in confidence with someone who listens non-judgementally, with your interests in mind and without fixed ideas about what’s best for you.
My approach is to invite you to talk about yourself, about your relationships present and past, about experiences that may have shaped your ways of being with others and dealing with frustrations and disappointments, about what gives you pleasure and makes life worthwhile. Together we will begin to see why things affect you as they do, how pressures build up and become unmanageable, and how a life without these difficulties might look.
If you would like to meet for an initial consultation, please contact me by email to arrange a time. I am also happy to speak on the phone to help you decide whether therapy (with me) is for you.
I am a UKCP registered psychoanalytic psychotherapist practising south-east London (Brockley) and remotely.
